Old Picture

Learned this cool feature where you take a brand new pic, and you make it look as if it is 100 years old... of course in the picture I used, the woman already looks like she is dressed from the past, by using some filters and adjustment layers we get the exact look we want for a vintage picture.

Below the before and after...

Alcohol Ad

To create this kind of billboard type advertisement I had to venture into the extraction filter once again, and then played with some other filters and blending modes to obtain the desired result...

Below the two original pictures and the billboard:

Pegasus on a winter field

Mixing two different kind of animals by using layer masks and match color, we can get a picture of an ordinary horse in the fields, and a picture of swans flying high, together to make the image of Pegasus the Mythical Horse Creature...

Below, the original pictures and some alterations...

Spider Attack!

In this one, the objective was to extract two pictures, and then place the spider on the bald man's head in order for him to appear as if he is in shock for having the spider on his head... afterwards, just changed some blending options as well as some lightning effects on the final picture...

Below, the original pictures and the result:

3d Bug

Using simple alterations to the channel layout in photoshop, its easy to create 3d images, by altering some of this images colors, as well as changing the blending options and the perspective, we get the 3d image of the bug. If you can manage to get a pair of 3d glasses, supposedly you see it in 3d...

Below the before and after.

Comic Alterations

For this excercise, the objective was to get a picture of a dog, that could easily go on a Hallmark birthday card... using different filters (liquify, extract, posterize edges, cutout) we got the desired funny dog. Below the before and after.

Neon Reflection on Water

This was actually an interesting challenge for me, getting the House of Blues sign, appear as if it is a reflection on a puddle of water in the middle of the street. Using the lazo tool, free transform, match colors, and burn tools, plus the zigzag distortion filter, we can get the final image.

Below, both the original images, and the masterpiece.

Displacement Maps

Using the filter displacement maps I get to alter both of these pictures, so that they get an effect similar to the Apply Image effect, where the wall looks like its been painted with stripes from the beginning, and also where I merge a picture of a girl with a cracked floor....

below the results...

Color Retouch 2

In the old mans stare picture, I used a different color retouching than in this one of a Baby who is probably an old man by now... here I had to do much more by my own hand, and the result was marvelous! below, original and colored...

Retouch of Color

retouching a black and whit picture to be more of a sepia kind of looking picture, on the second picture I focus on putting some extra emphasis on the eye. below the original and then the two modifications...

Eye Color

The next step was changing the color of an eye... to achieve this I learned how to use the color replacement tool, as well as layer masks to really delineate the diffrent colors.... below, the original picture, several alterations and then the final result...

Retouch the Lips

This is a similar experiment as the one below, but in this one the effect was on the lips, so that a picture that had almost no color in it, with a girl with low tones, now includes red lips like if it was her original lipstick idea.

Below the Before and after.

Improving the Eyes

I am now learning how to improve images, and in this one the objective was to delineate a better tone for the Eye... it still needs some work, but you can see the difference when the mask was applied. Below the before and the after....

Graffiti Wall

In the next exercise the objective is to write on a wall as if the Graffiti has been there for a long time, using the ¨Blend If¨ option from the blending options menu of a layer I could get this done, playing around of course with the different underlying layers colors... the result below... thought I´d use Lank Shop for my text... remember its supposed to have been written there since the building was first built...

Apply Image

In this exercise the objective was to successfully merge the two pictures so that the man looks like he has a tattoo of south america on his back... Using the Apply Image Function and displacement maps I could get it done.. below, the two pictures and the result.
